SURVIVING CANCER

I know What It’s Like to Have Cancer

When I was 20 years old they told me I had a 4-centimeter malignant tumor growing in my belly. I was single parent with 3 small children and had just run away from a violent man who beat me. I was alone in a big city I didn’t know. And I had no one.

They hit me with radiation for 2 months straight. Then they implanted it in my gut. Twice. For 48 hours each time. They turned my bed around and put up a big sign that said: CAUTION RADIATION! My weight dropped to 78 pounds.

They burnt me so bad the flesh burned off my body. I was left with severe radiation damage that couldn't be repaired. Somehow I survived. Yes I know what it’s like to have cancer. And I know what it’s like to fight like hell and survive.

God was watching.
